The Inn at Whitewell sits perched on the banks of the River Hodder with spectacular views over the river and onto the fells. This 14th c building is a labyrinth of old fashioned charm with antiques, stone floors and open fires.

There aren’t many real inns left, but here we serve great food in a friendly fashion in a unique building . Dogs, children, suits and boots all blend together and make a very happy atmosphere.

The inn is renowned for its 23 beautiful bedrooms combining designer fabrics, good old furniture and lovely pictures and prints. The beds are handmade in London, many rooms have glorious Victorian bathing machines, riverside views and peat fires.

If you decide to visit the Inn to walk, hold a private meeting in the hotel boardroom or to stay and fish you can rely on eating the very best of our local produce cooked by the talented kitchen team who bake our breads daily, bottle chutneys, jams and marmalades for people to take home.

Lunch is served everyday in the bar or garden, likewise for supper. For those who want to be little more formal the riverside dining room is the perfect location. The Inn is also home to Bowland Forest Vintners, an independent wine merchant, ensuring you drink fabulous wines at reasonable prices.
