The Punch Bowl Inn nestles snugly ‘amongst the Damsons’, in the delightfully unspoilt Lyth Valley at Crosthwaite. With the village church right next door, the rural charm of bell ringing and bell song, combined with uninterrupted views down the valley, make this a stunning location.

The nine bedrooms are individually decorated with scrumptious soft furnishings, Roberts Revival radios, flat screen televisions, wireless internet access and smart bathrooms with free standing roll top baths and feature lighting.

The restaurant is light and airy and the bar in warm and friendly, with a stunning Brathay slate bar top, antique furniture and pen fires. Chalkboards reveal the seasonal menu, wines, Champagnes and foreign draught and bottled beers, alongside a range of local hand pulled real ales.

Whatever you are looking for, good food, luxurious rooms, peace and relaxation or good walking territory, The Punch Bowl, Crosthwaite is worth a visit.

The food here (awarded regional dining pub of the year 2008, by the Good Pub Guide, and also Lake District Life Magazine’s restaurant of the year 2007/2008) concentrates on fresh local produce, with a good portion of imagination. Local specialties and pub favourites sit along side more elegant delicacies. A la Carte £30-£40 3 courses per person.

Terms: We are unable to accept group bookings of more than three rooms out of consideration for our other guests. There is a discount of 25% for single occupancy. Check in time is after 2.00pm. Check out time is before 11.00am. Rates are subject to change by the management. A deposit of £50 per room is required on booking to secure your reservation. The deposit will be forfeited in the event of cancellation less than 14 days prior to arrival, unless we re-let the room. If cancellation is made within 48 hours of the date of your arrival you will be charged for one night's accommodation unless the room is re-let.
