Rothay Manor is a small country house hotel, big on atmosphere and totally 'unstuffy' with a great team who are probably the friendliest in the business and always happy to help. In a great position in the heart of the Lake District, within easy walking distance of Ambleside and Windermere Lake, the hotel has been owned by the Nixon family for 43 years with Nigel currently at the helm with his wife, Gwyneth, who are both very much involved in the day-to-day running of the business. We are proud of our reputation for being relaxing, comfortable and friendly and ‘where guests feel at home’, a feeling helped by the many longstanding staff members who are as much a part of Rothay Manor as Nigel and Gwyneth and promote the very real ‘family’ feel of the hotel.

With its lovely gardens to sit in when the weather is nice and plenty of free on-site parking, it makes an ideal base for walking or cycling as well as sightseeing or jusr ‘chilling out’. The restaurant has been listed in the Good Food Guide for 41 years and offers great food throughout the day from Morning Coffee, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner.

Rooms:
A choice of bedrooms to suit everyone from people travelling on their own, couples, families and those with mobility issues, starting with our spacious Classic rooms through to a suite. Prices start from £130 per room per night to include freshly cooked full Cumbrian breakfast (based on 2 people sharing a Classic room) up to £240 per night for 2 people sharing a suite.
For a rate including delicious 3-course dinner in our well-known restaurant, prices start from £185 per night (based on 2 people sharing a Classic room) to £315 per night when sharing a suite.

Meals:
The restaurant at Rothay Manor is open to non-residents each day for Morning Coffee (£3.20), Monday – Saturday for Lunch or Light Lunch (£5.50 - £22.00), Sunday Lunch (£22.50), Afternoon Tea (£13.50) and Dinner (£35 - £50). Closed 3rd – 20th January 2011.
