The Dartmoor Inn

Lydford, Okehampton
Devon, England, EX20 4AY

Secretly Famous™ for…

Their Boutique nestled amongst a network of dining rooms where you can browse while having a drink. Linen and glassware from Sweden, handmade quilts from France, handbags and jewellery by local designers, all sourced by the inn's co-owner, Karen Burgess.

The Dartmoor Inn is a special place. The cooking is great, the bar is warm, the style, which owes a bit to Sweden and a bit to New England, will make you feel at home.

The restaurant is made up of a series of cosy, stylish dining rooms, each with its own identity. Although there are linen cloths and sparkling glassware on every table the feeling is relaxed. The award-winning cooking is based on seasonal ingredients and much work has gone into forging links with local farmers and food artisans to ensure the best raw materials.

The small bar has local ales and a log fire - of course - and its own menu (except Friday and Saturday evenings). It serves pub classics, Dartmoor Inn style. You’ll find fish and chips with green mayonnaise, steak sandwich with onions, rocket and grain mustard, and caramelised rice pudding.

The Inn’s three bedrooms are light, spacious and contemporary country in style. They’re all decorated with beautiful fabrics and furnished with antique and hand-painted furniture from England and France. Each room is completely individual, with its own sitting area, ‘Roberts Revival’ radio and en suite bathroom – televisions are provided in every room.

The most spacious of the Inn’s three rooms with a luxurious king-size hand-painted bed, toile de jouy cushions, French quilted throw and a duck-egg blue en suite bathroom.

A warm and comfortable double-bedded room with
a French upholstered bed and hand-quilted velvet
throw. Furnished with an elegant coral brocade
sofa and en suite bathroom.

A light and elegant room with vaulted ceiling, king-size bed and crystal-drop chandelier. Decorated with paisley and daisy-sprig linens and en suite bathroom with ticking window seat.
