Rick and Sue Hodgson established Gallon House in 2003. Uniquely situated at the heart of historic Knaresborough, overlooking the river Nidd, the viaduct and Knaresborough Castle, Gallon House offers award winning bed and breakfast accommodation and delicious locally sourced food.

Rick is a classically trained, well-known Yorkshire chef with more than 35 years experience, while Sue has worked in the training and development of customer service teams. The result is a winning combination of carefully sourced food, using the freshest products with real culinary skill, and a charming environment with friendly but unobtrusive service. The atmospheric setting compliments the food perfectly.

Both enjoy good wine, and Rick, with the help of wine merchant Cyriaque from wine merchants Enotria, has selected a list creating a balance of new world and traditional wines.

Knaresborough offers a great base for visiting both the Yorkshire Dales and the vibrant cities and towns of North Yorkshire, from unwinding in Harrogate's famous Turkish Baths to delving into the history of a nearby 14th Century Castle. Rooms:
3 charming, individually furnished bedrooms. In each room there is great attention to detail and comfort. The bedrooms are warm and well ventilated. Beds are comfortable with fresh, crisp white bed linens. A complimentary drinks tray includes speciality teas and coffees, mineral water, elderflower cordial and a bottle of black sheep ale.
