You will receive a wonderful warm welcome from the owners, Karl and Amanda Mainey. Their love story began fifteen years ago when a travelling chef and a skiing chalet girl bumped into each other on the slopes of Courchevel (literally!) and the rest was history. They now have three sons, their very own chef, waiter and dishwasher; Hamish, Jonty and Fergus.

Having enjoyed a number of successful ventures, the couple fell in love again, this time with The Crown Inn at Roecliffe! This became their 'Crowning’ flagship moment as they transformed it from its previous sad old state into somewhere which befits this picture perfect village.

The 16th century inn combines historic features with sumptuous 5 star accommodation. Stone flag floors, crackling open log fires and old oak beams, create the ideal place for a luxury break where you can experience some of the finest food in North Yorkshire. Or simply drop in to sample one of the guest ales.

Food:
The menu changes weekly to reflect the best quality ingredients available utilising small local suppliers and finest Yorkshire produce. The extensive menu is accompanied by blackboard fish specials, homemade breads and home made jams, chutney, cakes and puddings.

Rooms:
Four elegantly styled rooms are gracefully named ‘The Gun Room’, ‘Wild Flowers’, ‘Fox & Pheasant’ and ‘French Partridge’, each with their own individual characteristics. Decorated with exquisite Farrow & Ball paints and hand made wallpaper, all rooms have tea and coffee and en suite facilities, alongside a selection of DVD’s and interesting reads to choose from.
