The Millstone is all about the food, serving Lancashire’s most popular dishes in this little corner of this wonderful county. It is owned and managed by Chef Anson Bolton, who has worked tirelessly over the past nine years to achieve 2 AA rosettes, which he has held consecutively since his arrival.
Anson's menus are inspired by the freshest; in season produce from trusted local and regional suppliers. Simple in their creation, they’re perfectly executed to satisfy even the most discerning guests. Dishes include ‘Black Pudding Fritters and Chilli Jam’, ‘Battered Haddock in Thwaites Beer Batter’ and ‘Bowland Steak, Kidney and Wainwright’s Ale Suet Pudding’. You will enjoy a true taste of what makes the Ribble Valley so special.
Front of house, you'll meet Tim, Hannah and Anson's wife Sarah. Although Anson spends much of his time in the kitchen he never misses an opportunity to leave the stoves and come out and meet the guests.
As part of the Thwaites family there is an immense amount of wine, brewing and culinary expertise on offer at The Millstone. Their 'Special Suppers' are a real treat where Anson will guide you through the menu and a guest Sommelier selects the perfect wines to complement each of the dishes.
